Please consider the following information before you enroll in the class.

Online classes are in very high demand.  Every semester, I turn away dozens of students who need to take online classes. When you sign up for an online class, please behave as if it were a traditional class – meaning you must check in with the class the first day of school.

Since this is an online course, entering students are expected to:

• Know how to use a computer.  Students must know how to navigate the Internet and use word processing software.  Students must know functions such as: cut and paste, formatting, saving documents in different types of files, etc. (the instructor is an English instructor, not a computer technician)

• Remember their own password

• Have their own email address

• Know English grammar

• Be familiar with MLA format

• Know the Moodle course management system

• Have strong writing skills

• Be confident and disciplined

• Have met the prerequisite:

For English 101 -- a grade of  C or higher in English 28 or have been assessed at the English 101 level

For English 103 -- a grade of C or higher in English 101

For English 206 -- a grade of C or higher in English 101
